Choice of Birthplace
At this time, we unfortunately do not have the resources to support choice of birthplace. This is a departure from the midwifery model of care. The care you receive from midwives at Chickadee is different from the care that other midwives in BC provide, because the Chickadee midwives do not offer choice of birthplace, or support home birth at this time.
Understanding the local level of interest in home birth is important. This data will be used in evaluating the demand for home birth, so that we can do our best to tailor maternity care services to the specific needs of our community and the greater South Peace Region.
